I know… I know…
I know I promised to be more active and what, and I guess I kinda sorta lied about that, seeing as how I made like 5 or so posts and let it drop off again.
I honestly didn’t do it on purpose, I just get busy (usually by finding new things to mess up) and don’t post. And I end up making one of these crappy uninteresting posts.
But I’ll briefly tell you what I’ve been up to.
I’ve basically been playing around with my laptop, putting it through hell and back. First by installing Vista, just because it’s about time Windows had some features I could “Ooo” and “Ahhh” about. Screw themes that make it just look pretty, I wanted to look pretty and do cool stuff. So yeah Vista delivered on that I suppose. Is it a well worth upgrade from XP? Nah not really, not if you’re looking for it to do and be better at things under the hood. But the look and feel — I dig it, some may not, and well that’s your choice in life.
Other then installing Vista (makes my laptop burn like it’s in hell, or maybe it always did that and I didn’t notice), I took the plunge to install OS X, Vista’s inspiration. Didn’t take long, considering there are guides for it everywhere, and a website/forum dedicated to getting you to the point where you have a usable “Hackintosh”. I’m up and running and it just reaffirms that I really want a MBP, or hell even a MB would be nice. But definitely something to dual boot (gotta have games).
Stability wise, it’s fine I suppose, only gripe I have is that that display won’t go into sleep mode, so that leaves the lappy working all day/night. I guess I have another gripe in that I can’t use Wi-Fi (no driver for the card I have), but other then those 2 things it’s great. Runs fast and everything. And I definitely love the software you true Mac users get (Shoebox, ecto (even those there’s one for Windows, but it’s probably not as pretty), iPhoto to name a few).
So all in all, I’ll just be bumming around Vista and OS X for awhile I suppose, especially since I made the mistake of wiping the partition that restores Dell’s to their manufacturer defaults (software and what not). But that’s a non-issue, I can always get XP back.
One thing I would like to know though is, what keys do Mac users use for Home and End!? Lil’ help here?
EDIT: Nevermind I guess, I think FF just don’t want me to use them, with Adium they work fine…[tags]OS X, Macintosh, Apple, Windows, Vista, Microsoft, bored[/tags]
