Funny. I’ve been looking for a adequate blogging app and lo and behold, the one I needed the most was the one offered by WordPress. Now if it only it had a OS X notification center widget and markdown support.

So this thing with reddit becoming a “safe space” is really getting out of hand today it seems. If it actually ends up effecting companies decisions to advertise on reddit… Well, let’s just see how this place out for Ellen Pao.

Minority Report StarsAlmost Human was good — it got canceled. Don’t see this faring any better.

Steven Spielberg directed the 2002 movie, and his company Amblin TV is behind the new TV series, set 10 years after the end of “pre-crime” in Washington D.C.

Robinson Meyer writes in The Atlantic that first of all, police shouldn’t ask. “As a basic principle, we can’t tell you to stop recording,” says Delroy Burton, a 21-year veteran of DC’s police force. “If you’re standing across the street videotaping, and I’m in a public place, carrying out my public functions, [then] I’m subject to recording, and there’s nothing legally the police officer can do to stop you from recording.”

Mayweather v. Paquiao

Boxers who fleeced world embraceThe world was all a titter with the announcement of this fight. The vaunted as “fight of the century,” but those who have been following boxing for any length of time absolutely knew what they’d be in for. There’s a reason they call Mayweather the greatest defensive boxer of his time.

All that running around, hugging and skillful slipping punches is what he’s been eating off of for his whole career. He’s not a knockout artist, sure he’s gotten quite a few, but he’s not the type of fighter Mike Tyson or Tommy Hearns was; lots of power, constantly looking for the power punch. He’s the exact opposite. He wears his opponent out with slips, foot movement and intelligence. He may not be able to get through a novel in a timely fashion, but his boxing acumen is unrivaled because that’s what he’s been studying his whole life. Where most bloggers and journalists were hitting the books in college, he was jabbing faces from a suitable distance until he was able to get the shot to end the fight — or in most cases, avoid the shot that would end the fight.

You (or someone you know) paid $100+ for the fight. If you were a boxing neophyte and you bought it expecting to see knockout mastery, power punches thrown in vicious sequence, then yeah I guess you should feel jipped. You didn’t get what you thought you were paying for, or at least expected some excitement. Oh well, least you got Jamie Foxx’s rendition of the national anthem, right?

Help me win a new camera!

So there’s this contest going on where the prize is a brand new Nikon or Canon camera. And since awhile back all my gear was stolen, I’m hoping that maybe there’s someone who still reads this and wants to help me out. So, below I’ll drop a link to the contest so you too can enter. Of course you’d be helping me out too by clicking the link as well.

Maybe one of us will win!

Big thanks to the SnapKnot wedding photography directory for offering this great camera giveaway!

As you all may or may not have noticed, I haven’t really updated this place in a long time. By the time I actually came back from my “hiatus”, WordPress jumped from 2.6 or whatever it was I was using to 2.8. Of course I like to stay up to date with everything I use, be it my blogging platform or desktop blogging software, I had to upgrade and it turned out… Well it didn’t turn out like I had planned.

But that’s okay.

I’ll be adding new content very soon, and spiffing up the place as much as possible. All the bell’s and whistles that keep my (and hopefully your) attention.

So stay tuned and bare with me, ’cause this is gonna be a long and fruitful trip.
